Un Rezo / A Prayer
Sorprendente Dios,
abre nuestros ojos para que podamos ver
las multitudes que esperan a las puertas de nuestras comunidades,
que una signo de comunión caiga de nuestras manos.
Sabemos que Tu eres la única puerta que puede atravesar los abismos que hemos construido.
Tu eres el único que pudo pasar de un reino al otro
para que también nosotros y nosotras podamos derribar esos muros que aún nos dividen,
y hacer visibles en el amor a nuestros hermanos y hermanas
que no queremos mirar y con las y los que no queremos tener comunión.
Que nuestras mesas sean espacios de dignidad abiertas a todos y todas.
Que esta crisis del vih y del sida nos muestre que eres Tú el que espera a las puertas de nuestras cenas y que clamas por inclusión, justicia y comunión.

Amazing God
open our eyes so we can see
the multitudes that wait at the doors of our communities
waiting for a sign of communion to fall from our hands.
We know that you are the only gate that crosses the chasms we have constructed.
You are the only one who can move from one kingdom to another
and enable us to break down the walls that separate us.
You make visible in your love, our brothers and sisters
who we do not want to see - those with whom we do not want to have communion - that our tables should be spaces of dignity open to all people.
You show us in the crisis of HIV/AIDS that it is You waiting at our doors
and at our dinner tables crying to be heard - begging to be included - for justice and communion.
